LIFT FM Battle of the Bands 2008

BATTLE OF THE BANDS- CONTEST RULES


HOW TO ENTER

1. Entries must be received by July 10th 2008. Cost of registration is $ 50 for individual singers and $ 75 for full bands ($ 150 if you cannot help with set-up/take-down of major bands equipment). Up to 15 groups will be selected to play on August 2, 2008 as part of the live competition. The selected groups will be notified by telephone or email.

2. Entries must include name of band, address/contact phone numbers, number of members in band and list of instruments. In addition you must send a check for registration written out to LIFT FM and if possible, accompanied by a digital band photo (photo is optional), delivered as jpg on disk or via email, and an audio file (mp3 or CD) of at least one or two of your songs to be performed at the event.

3. Each band that competes at the Battle of the Bands on August 2nd will play one or two songs on stage, depending on time, number of entries etc., for a total performance time of no longer than 12 minutes.

4. A stage crew will be on hand to assist each band in setting up and sound check. It is the band’s responsibility to set gear and be ready to perform within the allotted time.

5. Stage management has final say on all activities on stage. Any band going over time limit, or disregarding event management’s direction about anything, including safety and time, may be disqualified or powered off.

6. A panel of qualified judges and audience participation will be used to select winners. All decisions are final.

7. If your group is chosen to compete in the Battle of the Bands, you must be available to perform on August 2nd between the hours of 3pm and 10pm. Time requests will be considered, but no time slots are guaranteed, and if you enter, you need to be available at any time.

8. All bands are required to help with set-up and take-down of equipment of signed performing artists, Tenth Avenue North and Eleventy Seven.

9. Employess of LIFT FM are ineligible to enter.

10. Battle of the Bands is open to amateurs only. For the purpose of this contest, an amateur is somebody without a major-label recording contract.

11. Entries must be completed in English, but the band may perform their songs in any language.

12. LIFT FM and the Ocean City Tabernacle are not responsible for any damage or theft of your musical equipment during the Battle of the Bands. Please, watch it closely.
